My First Attempt at a Tri-Fold/Shutter Card

This was a fun card to make.  Went to YouTube and watched several tutorials on how to make them.  Can't believe all the tutorials on YouTube, you could make just about anything.  Had to go back several times to figure out how to fold the card.  I still don't think I got it right.  And, yes, this is in black and white.  I still have problems putting colors together so I figured black and white would be easier.  Dah, didn't know I have problems matching patterns too.  Oh well, it's a great way to learn.

Now I'm going back to learn how to make an easel card.

  1. All of these recent cards are just lovely, Cyndi! I think the patterns on the black and white card look great together! That's the best thing about using the black/white combination... it's very hard to go wrong. Have you ever considered using a color wheel to help you with selecting colors that "gel" well together? You can find them all over the Internet or in your local art supply stores and they really do help, especially if you've never had any instruction in that area. I don't think you have as big a problem as you imagine but it might give you the peace of mind and confidence you need to choose your color palette without hesitation. Very nice work on these. I want to learn to make easel and shutter cards too... just haven't gotten to it yet. Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such a sweet comment about my toilet paper roll mini album.
